Security increased at Westchester synagogues for Yom Kippur

Local synagogues increase security for Yom Kippur after attacks in the Middle East.

Yom Kippur, the day of Atonement, is one of the holiest days of the Jewish calendar. At Temple Emanu-El in Yonkers, worshippers had to identify themselves before they could enter. The heightened security comes after a suicide bomber blew herself up and killed 19 others in Haifa over the weekend.

At the Beth El Synagogue, a security guard was stationed outside. Worshippers say they are glad the extra security was in place.
