New multimillion dollar transportation center in New Rochelle nears completion

Commuters in New Rochelle will soon have an easier time parking near the train station.

Mayor Tim Idoni announced Tuesday that a new $20 million transportation center will bring 600 new parking spaces for commuters. Right now the finishing touches are being made to the parking garage. In addition to more parking there will also be a bus terminal and an area for limousines.

The new transportation center is expected to open in January. Parking permits for the new parking garage can be obtained by calling the New Rochelle city clerks office.
