Missouri man charged with making threats against Harrison, Port Chester schools

Steven Eggleston, 20, of Kansas City is charged with attempted coercion.

Eggleston is accused of using a lost cell phone to make three threatening phone calls on Tuesday. The calls prompted Purchase Elementary School officials in Harrison to close school for the day, and in Port Chester schools were in lockdown. Since the calls, police have been stationed at schools in both areas.

Authorities believe Eggleston and an accomplice made the crank calls using a three-way feature on the cell phone. Police are still unclear as to why Eggleston made the calls. Authorities believe Eggleston had a connection to a youth in Port Chester that began about eight or nine months ago.

District Attorney Jeanine Pirro says additional charges against Eggleston are likely. Right now, legal proceedings are underway to try and extradite Eggleston from Missouri to answer the charges filed against him in Westchester.
