Pickup truck plows into Yonkers home; cops still searching for driver

Early Saturday morning, a couple in Yonkers was awakened with a jolt when a truck smashed into the front porch of their home, and now police are searching for the driver.At about 2 a.m., Dianne Hodges and her husband Robert Roderick received a rude awakening. Police say a man driving a 1985 Chevy pickup truck crashed into a minivan, hit another car, and finally careened into the front porch of the couple's home at 137 Voss Street. Witnesses say the driver bolted after the accident and was last seen running down the block.Nobody inside the home was hurt, but the force of the crash was enough to bring down a few bricks and beams. Workers are tearing down the weakened porch as a safety precaution.Police are currently investigating the incident, and still have not managed to locate the driver of the truck. Cops say that when the suspect is caught, he will face numerous charges including reckless driving.
