Indian Point officials pleased with the results of the emergency sirens test

A test of Emergency sirens at Indian Point Tuesday proved to be successful.

Out of the 154 emergency sirens surrounding Indian Point, only one siren did not sound according to Entergy, the company that owns the power plants. The company says it is pleased with the results.

Last time the sirens were tested, Entergy and the county disagreed on how many sirens worked and how many failed. So this time, Entergy made sure their workers took digital pictures of the sirens sounding and rotating.

As for what the procedure is for if and when the sirens sound in a real emergency, residents News 12 Westchester spoke with were not completely clear on what to do.
