Mamoroneck mayor says police department is not corrupt

Are corrupt cops a problem in the Village of Mamaroneck? The mayor says he doesn't think so but a suspended police officer strongly disagrees, and now he's part of a heated disciplinary hearing.

Police Officer Jeremy Skehan was suspended without pay from the Mamaroneck Police Department after claiming the department was corrupt. Skehan insists cops arrested a 17-year-old girl for drunk driving in May, even though he claims they had no evidence.

But Mayor Phillip Trifiletti says he doesn't think there's any corruption. He says the department is great and sometimes officers make mistakes.

A fourth village hearing on the matter is scheduled for November 5. Skehan has also filed a civil suit against his superiors and the Village of Mamaroneck.
