Candidates for Yonkers mayor continue to receive endorsements

Yonkers mayoral candidates Joe Farmer (D) and Phil Amicone (R) are set to square off on Election Day.

With Election Day just a little more than a week a way, both candidates for mayor are still busy campaigning and continue to receive endorsements.

Just recently, Attorney General Elliot Spitzer announced his support for fellow Democrat Farmer. Spitzer is the second top Democrat to show support for Farmer. Back in September Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) visited Yonkers to throw her support behind Farmer.

As for Republican candidate Amicone, two local firefighters' unions recently endorsed him. Local 628 also endorsed Amicone during the primary and is sticking with him.

But only time will tell whether the endorsements help drive the candidates to victory.
