Police standoff in Yonkers ends peacefully

A Yonkers neighborhood is recovering after a tense situation Wednesday night. Police were called to the area after they received reports that a man was threatening to shoot himself. When police arrived, the man was standing outside his front gate with the gun barrel in his mouth. Officers convinced the man to lower his gun and then they tackled him, ending the standoff. One officer was slightly injured during the scuffle. The 29-year-old man was taken to Saint Joseph's Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. No word yet if he'll face charges for the incident.
