Colavita looking forward to new job as Eastchester town supervisor

After a night of celebrating, Eastchester Town Board member Anthony Colavita is looking forward to moving into his new job after he was elected town supervisor. Colavita won with 49 percent of the vote. Incumbent Jim Cavanaugh had 36 percent and Democrat PJ Denning took 15 percent.

Colavita was thrilled with his win saying his entire team worked very hard through the entire campaign. It was a hard fought race for Colivita, who squared off with the longtime incumbent Cavanaugh.

Cavanaugh, who has been town supervisor for the past 10 years, said he knew his run would end sooner or later. Cavanaugh's name will remain in front of county GOP headquarters, as he is still the chairman of the Republican Party.

However, Cavanaugh did lose the Republican primary to Colavita and ended up running for supervisor on the Conservative and Independence party lines.

As for Colavita, he is following in his father's footsteps. His dad was town supervisor back in the 70s.
