Westchester company prepares holiday gift baskets for troops in Iraq

One of Westchester's biggest companies is doing what it can to help U.S. troops.

To help brighten the spirits of troops in Iraq who will not be home for the holidays, Reader's Digest is preparing about 5,000 gift baskets to send overseas. The baskets, which are being put together at Reader's Digest headquarters in Pleasantville, will be filled with books, CDs, snacks and a number of toiletries.

The effort was made possible thanks to donations from companies that advertise in the Reader's Digest. Editor of the Reader's Digest says everyone involved is so thankful for what the troops are doing.

The gift baskets will be shipped out just in time for the holidays.
