Yonkers man gets 15 years in prison for a year-old murder

A Yonkers man was sentenced to 15 years Friday for a fatal shooting last year. Felix Bisono, 24, will spend the next 15 years in prison for the shooting death of Tony Mercado last September. Bisono, who is said to be a member of the Yonkers street gang known as The Lawrence Street Posse, was found guilty of first and second-degree manslaughter in August.

Authorities say on September 29 of last year Bisono got into a fight with Tony and Josh Mercado outside a party in Yonkers. Bisono held a gun to Tony's chest and fatally shot the 21-year-old. In court, Bisono tried to convince the judge that he didn't really know how to use the 40-caliber handgun and he was holding the gun when it accidentally went off. After he was sentenced, Bisono told the judge he was sorry and wished he could trade places with Tony. The judge called the incident a tragedy and reminded Bisono that carrying a loaded gun is never a good idea.
