Yonkers man killed in a Manhattan hotel is laid to rest

Family and friends gathered Monday to say goodbye to Chris Mariconi who was found dead in NYC last week.

Mariconi's sister says her brother met Jenae Aragosa last Tuesday and decided to go on a date with her on Thursday. Then early Friday morning Aragosa's ex-boyfriend, Trevor Fredrick, showed up at the Manhattan hotel where Aragosa was living. That's when Frederick allegedly stabbed the two. After being stabbed Mariconi, 23, fell from the hotel room's kitchen window. Police do not know yet if he was pushed. Aragosa is still in the hospital.

Friends of Mariconi say he didn't deserve to die and that he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. They say he was someone who always had a smile on his face.

Mariconi's sister says she's looking for justice and is now focusing on how to cope with the loss.

Fredrick has been charged with murder and assault.
