IBM executive and brother-in-law killed in car crash in Somers

Investigators believe speed may have been the cause of a deadly crash in Somers over the weekend.

Ralph Cacciapaglia, 48, of Carmel, and his brother-in-law James Covello, 48, of Pound Ridge, were killed Saturday when police say their car went off the road and hit a tree. According to investigators, both were wearing seat belts but the car was nearly disintegrated on impact.

Cacciapaglia was an IBM executive. He is survived by his wife and two sons. Covello was an Emmy award winning TV cameraman and lighting director who did work for PBS. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
