Kids 'R' Us stores closing nationwide including locations in Westchester

Kids 'R' Us stores nationwide are closing their stores including locations in Westchester.

The stores are slated to close by January 31 and for shoppers in Hartsdale seeing the store go is sad. A number of shoppers at the Kids 'R' Us in Hartsdale say they don't want the store to close because there is really nothing else like it around.

The announcement to close the Kids 'R' Us chain comes amid larger than expected financial losses for its parent company Toys 'R' Us. So far there is no word as to how many workers in Westchester will be losing their jobs, but nationwide as many as 3,800 store workers will be laid off.

In addition to the Kids 'R' Us closings, 36 Imaginarium stores will also be shut down.
