Parolee arrested after a Peekskill woman finds him in her home

A parolee is in police custody after a woman finds him in a bedroom of her Peekskill home.

Irving Leach, 53, is facing a first-degree burglary charge, one year after being paroled for an attempted murder conviction. According to police, the homeowner and her daughter chased Leach down Main Street after finding him in their home.

Although Leach took nothing, police say during the chase Leach told the women that he had a gun and that is why a burglary charge is involved.

If convicted on the burglary charge, Leach could be sent back to prison to serve out the remaining time for his attempted murder conviction.
