Residents asked to conserve water after Bedford Hills water main break

A water main break on Nottingham Road in Bedford Hills leaves some residents without water. Police say they started receiving calls around 2 a.m. Thursday from residents who were having water pressure problems, but officials say that's not when the break actually happened. A spokesman from the Bedford Hills Water Department said with the torrential downpours, the break probably happened sometime Wednesday night but went unnoticed at first because of the rain. By the time the break was noticed, Route 117 was flooded and plenty of water was lost. The repair was completed quickly, but officials say it will take at least a day to replenish the wells with the water that was lost. In the meantime, residents who do have water are asked to conserve.
