Pelham man arrested after violating his probation

Police arrested a man accused of Internet sex crimes at his Pelhamdale Avenue home on Thursday morning. Upon searching the home, police found weapons, pornography and evidence of the man belonging to white supremacist groups.

Adam Mauro, a 25-year-old convicted sex offender, was arrested for violating his probation. Investigators say they caught Mauro in an Internet sex chat room.

Sources said Mauro was posing as a 14-year-old boy while using a satanic user name. Three years ago he was convicted for a similar crime, though he never served any jail time, when he was caught up in an Internet sex sting.

Mauro, who has been placed under a suicide watch, has been charged with violating his probation and is being held without bail at the county jail.
