Children's Village counselor accused in sexual attack on teen is free on bail

The counselor accused of holding down a teen during a sexual attack is out on bail. The alleged attack happened last week at Children's Village, a group home for troubled boys in Dobbs Ferry.

Jason Brown, 29, a counselor at Children's Village, was in court Tuesday along with 16-year-old Elliot Perryman, the teen who is accused of sodomizing a 14-year-old resident with a broomstick while Brown allegedly held him down. Both are charged with first-degree sexual abuse. Perryman remains behind bars and is being held on $50,000 bail.

Police say there were two other counselors in the cottage when the attack took place. They say the victim called out to one of them, but the counselor did not come to his rescue. That counselor along with Brown has been suspended without pay.

Both Brown and Perryman are due back in court on December 4.
