Community pitches in to help Peekskill fire victims for the holiday

An outpouring of help is underway in Peekskill to help those who lost their homes in a fire Tuesday.

The fire department, Red Cross and local businesses are pitching in to try and make the Thanksgiving holiday a little bit brighter for the residents at 141 Fremont Street who lost their homes. Businesses are accepting donations of furniture, clothing, food, etc. to help the residents get back on their feet. The Red Cross is providing shelter for those who have no one to stay with.

Some residents were allowed back into their homes to see if they could salvage anything. One resident says what happened is devastating but he's thankful no one was hurt.
