Westchester Health Department urging residents to get flu shots

A new strain of influenza has doctors urging residents to get flu shots this year.

The Department of Health's District Office in White Plains has already begun administering flu shots. While each year residents, especially children and seniors, are urged to get the shot, officials say this year it is more important than ever because of the new strain.

So far, health department officials have reported four cases of the flu, but say there are probably many more cases out there.

Since the flu season is just getting underway, health officials say now is the time to go get your flu shot.
