Westchester Medical Center employees protest pink slips

Workers from the Westchester Medical Center rallied together in protest Friday, two days after layoff notices were handed out.The protesters argued that the layoffs will jeopardize patient care and safety. They hoped the protest will raise awareness to what they consider a very serious situation. With the holidays around the corner, workers also hoped it could lead to a special present; getting their jobs back.Close to 200 employees at Westchester Medical Center received pink slips earlier this week. As of now, they will be out of work in less than a month. The hospital said the cuts are needed to fill a $30 million budget hole.
