Nationwide manhunt underway for accused child rapist from Peekskill

Police are in the midst of a nationwide manhunt Friday for an accused child rapist from Peekskill.

According to police, 68-year-old Richard Bell is accused of repeatedly raping a 10-year-old girl for years. Bell is being sought by both the Peekskill Police Department and the Westchester District Attorney?s office after the agencies were notified about the possible sexual abuse earlier this week.

A search warrant was executed on Bell?s Ridge Avenue home Thursday. Police say Bell was not at home but they did seize an arsenal of firearms in the house. Authorities say Bell, who owns a plumbing company, should be considered armed and dangerous. A nationwide bulletin went out for Bell. Peekskill police ask anyone with information to contact them at 914-737-8000.
