Parishioners upset admitted sex offender allowed to stay at Yonkers church

A priest who has admitted to having sex with a 16-year-old boy years ago has found shelter at a Yonkers church. William Naughton resigned from his duties at a New Jersey church after being investigated for embezzling funds. He then stayed at the Annunciation Church rectory on Westchester Avenue on and off for one year. Church officials say Naughton was no longer welcomed once the controversy came to light. While the 61-year-old has never been charged with a crime, parishioners in Westchester are outraged. The rectory is often filled with children who answer phones and do odd jobs. The building sits directly across the street from the highly regarded Annunciation Catholic Grammar School. Monsignor Keane is the pastor at the church and reportedly allowed Naughton to stay there. He has yet to return News 12 Westchester?s phone calls.
