Bronxville candy storeowner accused of selling liquor to minors

The owner of a Bronxville candy store is accused of selling liquor to two 15-year-old girls for an illegal house party Friday night. Police say the owner of Candyland, 37-year-old Hiren Kenia, sold a bottle of rum to the girls. Students and parents in the affluent village say they were shocked when they heard the news. The teens, who cooperated with the police investigation, were released to their parents and referred to the youth division of the police department. Kenia is charged with two counts of unlawfully dealing with a minor. He is expected back in Bronxville court on June 1.
