Putnam County couple accused of starving kids won't face felony charges

The Putnam County District Attorney decided Tuesday that the couple accused of starving their 7-year-old twins will not have any more charges filed against them. The children were put into foster care with other family members after James and Eda Giordano were arrested in March. Child Protective Services got involved after they received an anonymous tip. The kids weighed less than 30 and 41 pounds and were eventually brought to the Westchester Medical Center to be evaluated. After two months of evaluating the children and parents, officials determined that the Giordano's will not face felony charges. However, the case still may go to trial. The Giordanos are facing two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child and are expected back in Kent Town Court next month.
