Unusual mail delivery leads to arrest of Pelham Manor resident

An unusual mail delivery led to the arrest of a Pelham Manor man for manufacturing a popular drug.

According to investigators, Federal agents discovered a mail delivery to James Boneice of a substance called sassafras oil. The oil is the key ingredient in the drug, Ecstasy. Agents swarmed Boneice?s home and found enough chemicals inside to make nearly 5,000 doses of the drug.

Police say Boneice ordered the sassafras oil from the France through the Internet. It is banned in the United State unless it is approved by the government for legitimate use. Boneice is free on $100,000 bond, and is due in White Plains Federal Court on Thursday, June 2.
