Somers High School students cope with death of senior in car accident

Somers High School students spent Thursday trying to cope with the tragic death of a fellow classmate.

According to police, 17-year-old Eric D?Agnese was killed when he lost control of his car and struck a telephone pole on Route 118 Wednesday. D?Agnese, who was set to graduate in June, was on the wrestling and track teams. The superintendent says a counseling center has been set up to help students with their grief. School officials modified classes so students could seek out counseling.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident and do not believe drugs, alcohol or speed were factors.
