Westchester County Executive Andy Spano receives Democratic Party?s nod

Westchester County Executive Andy Spano received his party?s nod as the Democrats chose their slate of candidates Wednesday for the upcoming election this fall.

At the Democratic convention, there was talk of a primary for the county clerk position. Republican incumbent Leonard Spano announced recently that he wouldn?t seek re-election. Now three Democrats are thinking of possibly throwing their hats in the ring.

Westchester District Attorney Jeanine Pirro has not yet made an announcement on whether she will run again. Pirro will most likely do so at next week?s Republican convention. The Democrats have backed attorney Tony Castro for the position, who was close to unseating Pirro four years ago.
