Top administrator at Westchester Medical Center fired amid scandal

A top level administrator at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla was fired Wednesday.

Hospital officials say Joseph Pisani, who was the hospital?s senior vice president and chief administrative officer, was terminated after it was discovered he was involved in a scheme to overcharge Medicaid while he worked at Staten Island University Hospital.

This is just the latest blow to the financially troubled medical center, which has recently suffered from layoffs. Hospital staffers say the source of the trouble at the medical center is top officials, like Pisani, who are paid a $480,000 salary.

Officials for the hospital say they have no reason to believe there are any concerns or issues with Pisani at Westchester Medical Center.
