Messages of hate turn up again within Yorktown School District

Messages of hate turned up again within the Yorktown School District Thursday.

Police say they received a call at approximately 12:30 p.m. from Mohansic Elementary School, where a parent found the words ?hot osama? on her car. A half hour later authorites were called to the Mildred E. Strang Elementary School where a desk with a swastika had been drawn on it. Later on, several high school students who parked their cars on Granite Springs Road, found more graffiti on their cars. Police were also called to the district office where an employee found a racial slur about African Americans on her car.

School officials are working with the police and say the perpetrators will be prosecuted. School officials are considering adding surveillance cameras or extra security to prevent more incidents of hate graffiti. They add messages also turned up earlier in the month at Crompond Elementary School.
