Dramatic rescue of security screener at Westchester County Airport

A dramatic rescued occurred Friday at the Westchester County Airport after a baggage screener suffered an apparent heart attack.

According to police, a baggage screener with Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) collapsed and stopped breathing on the observation deck at the airport. Another TSA worker called out for help. County police, who were in the airport, ran to the scene and saw another TSA worker administering CPR.

Police say when the victim still did not have a pulse, they revived her with an external defibrillator at the airport. Police say the proximity of the defibrillator and the quick aid of her co-workers saved the screener?s life. Authorities say the baggage screener was taken to Greenwich Hospital and is expected to fully recover.
