Funeral services held for Somers teen killed in car accident

Friends and family members said their final farewells for a 17-year-old Somers High School student killed in a car crash weeks before his graduation.

Mourners gathered at Saint Patrick?s church in Yorktown to say goodbye to Eric D?Agnese. The teen was killed Wednesday when he lost control of his car and hit a utility pole. Those close to D?Agnese described him as a teenager who lived life to the fullest. They also say in addition to being captain of the wrestling team, D?Agnese was involved in a variety of sports.

Investigators say drugs, alcohol or speed do not seem to have been a factor in the tragic accident. After the funeral service, D?Agnese was laid to rest at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
