Priest who confessed to having sex with teenage boy allowed to stay at parish

The priest who confessed to having sex with a teenage boy 30 years ago, has been allowed to stay at the Annunciation Rectory in Yonkers on the weekends to get counseling from the monsignor.

The Catholic Church leader who made the decision concerning Father William Naughton has been dealing with the backlash from concerned parents that have allowed their kids to work at the rectory. Parents have heard nothing from the church in six days, but on Monday were granted a special meeting.

Monsignor Dennis Keane, who has been a friend of Naughtons for 40 years, said he did not know of Naughton's past but when informed told Naughton he was no longer welcome. Naughton hasn't been charged with any crime but he is under investigation in New Jersey for allegedly stealing $500,000 from his former church.
