Mobster testifies to trying to fix Westchester County court trial

Testimony from a mobster now links the head of the Yonkers GOP to an influence pedaling scheme in a civil suit before a Westchester County court judge.

Mobster Mo Sanginiti told a federal jury in Manhattan that he reached out to Yonkers Republican Chairman Zehy Jereis about a case before Judge Francis Nicolai. According to an FBI statement obtained by News 12 Westchester Sanginiti discussed a case pending before Judge Nicolai.

In a statement to News 12 Westchester Judge Nicolai says he has not spoken to Jeris in two years, and the case Sanginiti testified about was never before him.

At this point, no charges are pending against Jereis, and Sanginiti's testimony is part of a plea deal he worked out to settle an extortion case.
