Supreme Court judge to be chosen as GOP candidate to replace Pirro

A state Supreme Court judge is slated to be chosen as the Republican candidate for the Westchester district attorney?s position Tuesday.

The party is expected to choose State Supreme Court Judge Janet DiFiore as a replacement candidate. DiFiore resigned her post Tuesday to run for district attorney.

Westchester District Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced Monday her plans to not seek re-election but instead run for a higher statewide office. Pirro says there are three possibilities in her political future -- state attorney general, U.S. senator or the governor?s post. Many voters supported Pirro?s decision to aim for a higher office.
