Yonkers PTA votes to join school board in suit against state

The Yonkers PTA has voted to join the Yonkers School Board as its members prepare a lawsuit against New York State for more education funding.

PTA members agree that Yonkers schools have been struggling with money issues. A similar suit was won in New York City, though Yonkers did not receive any funding from it. The PTA president says they have discussed how the state has underfunded the schools.

Another group of parents called the Yonkers Education Advocates say they are not opposed to the lawsuit but simply want more information.
