Man hit by Metro-North train in Ossining

A man was struck by a Metro-North train at the Ossining Train Station Thursday afternoon, causing service to be suspended temporarily.

Metro-North police say 47-year-old Kirk Taylor survived after being struck by a southbound express train. Investigators say Taylor was on his way home with his 3-year-old son when the young boy dropped something on the tracks. Taylor jumped down to the tracks to get the item and was struck by the train.

Metro-North police say if individuals do drop something on the track they should contact them to safely remove the item. Taylor sustained several broken bones, but authorities say his injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
