Court battle erupts over topless club in New Rochelle

A court battle is erupting over a proposal to put a gentleman?s club with topless dancers in downtown New Rochelle.

City officials say the planned club violates zoning laws. The proposed club is directly across the street from New Roc City, a family entertainment complex. While city officials agree that zoning for an adult club is constitutional in New Rochelle, they argue the planned location is not legal in that jurisdiction.

Residents say the club would defeat the purpose of the new downtown family complex. A federal judge will decide if the club was unconstitutionally zoned out.
