Construction project on I-287 to cause lane closures

To gain a little, one must give a little. At least that is the impression for drivers on I-287 who must deal with on and off ramp lane closures during the next few days.

A new construction project designed to improve driving conditions and tweak the timing of traffic lights is underway from White Plains to Port Chester. The project is forcing lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and then again from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The project is budgeted at $5.3 million and is scheduled to finish in the fall.
