Hudson Valley Hospital workers assemble care package for doctor called to duty

Workers at Hudson Valley Hospital are assembling a care package for one of their own called to duty in Iraq.

Dr. John McGurty is the assistant director of emergency services at the hospital. In addition, he is the department surgeon for the Peekskill police and fire departments, However, McGurty is also a captain in the U.S. Navy?s Medical Corps and was called to active duty about a month ago.

McGurty?s co-workers are shipping items overseas for all the people working with him at his new hospital in Iraq. The chief of the Peekskill Fire Department says his members plan to assemble a care package for McGurty and his troops as well.
