World-renowned pianist makes stop in Valhalla for special fan

A world-renowned pianist made a stop the Maria Fareri Children?s Hospital in Valhalla Thursday to play for a fan recently diagnosed with leukemia.

Mei-Ting Sun, who performs his classic music worldwide, decided to make a pit stop from his 20-city tour after hearing about a special fan. Nini Xing, a 17-year-old from Briarcliff Manor, had to put her college career on hold after being diagnosed with leukemia. Sun said he was so touched by her story that he had to come and meet her.

With a piano donated from a local music store, Sun serenaded Xing and the other patients at the hospital. Xing, who loves music, even got a private piano lesson from Sun.
