Tips for Westchester students looking to arrive at the prom in style and safely

The extra-long stretch limousines many Westchester students will be riding in on prom night could have some hidden dangers for those inside. Some stretch limos may not be equipped to carry more than 12 passengers, which makes the limo unsafe. Red Oak Transportation and Democratic Assemblywoman Amy Paulin are giving out tips to parents who want to make sure their children are riding in style safely. Ask for the limo driver?s license, insurance and registration. Some limo companies may alter the vehicle and not properly register it, putting passengers at risk. Parents should also look for a Department of Transportation sticker on the front windshield that shows the driver is certified. Finally, there should be enough seatbelts for each passenger and make sure the company has a zero-tolerance for alcohol.
