Former boyfriend arrested in death of 17-year-old girl in Croton Falls

Officials have arrested the former boyfriend of the 17-year-old girl who was found stabbed to death Sunday. Ariel Menendez, 27, of the Bronx was arrested in Stamford, Connecticut Sunday night. According to Captain Richard Conklin, Menendez made incriminating statements but would not say whether he made a complete confession. He's awaiting extradition back to New York. Police say Elizabeth Butler was found in her Nissan Pathfinder in a Croton Falls parking lot where she worked at a local delicatessen. Her parents found her body after the deli called to say she had failed to show up for work. Butler was set to graduate from North Salem High School in two weeks. Investigators say an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
