Putnam Valley man faces felony animal cruelty charges

A Putnam Valley man was in court Thursday to face felony animal cruelty charges.

According to police, witnesses saw 40-year-old Frank Aquino kick his neighbor?s 15-year-old German Shepherd, Roxi, after it wandered into his yard. The dog later died as a result of the injuries.

Aquino pleaded not guilty to kicking and ultimately killing Roxi. He faces a maximum prison sentence of two years if convicted of aggravated animal cruelty charges. Aquino is due back in court on August 11.
