Saxon Woods Pool in White Plains opens to help residents beat the heat
The Saxon Woods Pool in White Plains opened Tuesday to help residents beat the extreme heat.
The county pool was only supposed to open on weekends in mid-June and officially open on June 23. Because of the heat, the park commissioner decided to allow residents to use the pool early. The Saxon Woods Park superintendent says lifeguards were gathered from other county parks to accommodate the early launch.
Westchester residents are thrilled the pool opened and say it is the best way to beat the heat. Each day park officials will make the decision at 8 a.m. whether or not to open the pool. The pool hours are from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
