Internship at Westchester Medical Center helps student find his calling

An internship at Westchester Medical Center helped a Rye Neck High School senior find his calling in life.

Eduardo Cortez, 17, and his family moved from Mexico 10 years ago. Cortez started a radiology internship at the hospital six weeks ago. Cortez?s internship director says he was shy and withdrawn when he first started. The work required Cortez to assist patients, technicians and physicians. Now, Cortez is happy and outgoing because he knows what he wants to do as a career.

Cortez not only goes to school and participates in the internship program, he also works seven days a week to support his family. He plans on attending Westchester Community College in the fall.
