Man killed from impact with utility pole in Pleasantville

Early Monday morning a 45-year-old man was killed after slamming his car into a pole on Broadway near Seneca Lane in Pleasantville.

Neighbors say they witnessed the car flying down the road, followed by the sound of of a loud bang. Police are not saying if speed was a factor in the crash, but they know the car crossed over a lane when it hit the pole.

The man was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla where he was pronounced dead. Authorities are not releasing the name of the man until they contact his family. Police are looking into the cause of the crash.
