Tarrytown man?s family suing hospital for the cover-up of his death

? The family of a Tarrytown man announced Monday they are suing New York Presbyterian Hospital for the cover-up of his death.

An autopsy revealed Richard Montesano died on April 13 from legionnaires disease by ingesting tainted tap water. The hospital first reported that Richard Montesano died from an infection after a catheter was placed in his arm when entering the hospital for a heart transplant operation. On Friday, results proved otherwise when a New York City medical examiner revealed Montesano died from ingesting water from the hospital?s water supply.

The family is now set to take action later on this week and will be seeking punitive damages. The family?s lawyer says the suit warranted because of the flagrant behavior of the hospital leading up to Montesano's death and the subsequent cover up.
