Man accused of drunken joyride in plane to Westchester remanded without bail
The man accused of stealing a plane in Connecticut while drunk and landing in Westchester was remanded without bail after appearing in Harrison Town Court Friday.
Philippe Patricio, 20, of Bethel, Connecticut, told the judge he had enough experience to fly a plane and never meant to hurt anyone. Police say Patricio stole a single engine Cessna from Danbury Municipal Airport and after the fuel ran low, landed the plane at Westchester County Airport with two 16-year-olds aboard.
Patricio has been charged with criminal possession of stolen property and reckless endangerment. Police in Danbury are weighing whether to bring additional charges. He is due back in court July 1.
