Yonkers woman killed by accused drunk driver laid to rest

More than 100 friends and family members packed a Yonkers church Saturday to mourn a woman killed by an accused drunk driver.

Carlene Joseph, 37, was killed Monday as she and her husband were walking home on Kimball Avenue. Police say Christopher Kiernan came barreling down the street, hit the couple and crashed into a nearby yard. Kiernan, an illegal immigrant from Ireland, was charged with DWI and vehicular manslaughter.

Mourners said how they much they will miss Joseph, who came with her husband to Yonkers from Guyana. Joseph?s husband now has the task of raising their three children alone.
